Six years ago I had a rocky relationship with Qwest. Their customer service was terrible, they couldn't deliver on promises and they never seemed to be able to answer questions.
Then about 4 years ago, things started to change. One day they called me to ask if they could increase the speed of my DSL connection for no extra money. A couple of months later they called me and asked if they could lower my rates on the new service. I don't know if I was more amazed that they were trying to be proactive or that they were actually able to pull off the changes they proposed seamlessly.
I have been happy with their service ever since. I am in Portland, OR.
