I have used Comcast high-speed internet access for almost 2 years. It's more expensive than DSL but it has faster download speeds. My house is not in a good location for DSL so cable internet is my only option. It has been fairly reliable. In two years, I have had 3 outages that were fixed relatively quickly.

Comcast has been a pain in the - - - -. It took them nearly 4 months to get a reliable service to my home computers. It wasn't for lack of trying, nearly 45 hours of labor at my house alone, new cables, new switch boxes, modems, routers, etc. It is now working great but then I wanted to bring my office laptop home, which is accessed to my office mainframe by VPN. VPN and the comcast router are incompatible, comcast's words not mine. So, I thought I would install a second modem for my office computer and hard wire into the back of it and bypass VPN. Sorry, only one modem can be registered by comcast to a house. The next option is that I buy my own modem and router rather than lease comcast's modem and router. And, who knows how well that will work on my home computers or my office computer for that matter.
